Our Manor teachers submit star students each month who exemplify the Will of a Wildcat (Cooperative, Always Responsible, Treating others with Respect, and Safety). Congrats to our nominees for the month of March!!
Laila Claudin: Laila is consistently positive in class, and never a disruption. When she speaks up in my class, she always has strong answers and elaborates on her explanations. Her positivity and consistent lead-by-example attitude truly benefit the whole 7th grade, and when she requests a specific handshake in the hallways, it always makes my day better. Laila brings such joy into the building in her own special way, and she is a treat to have in my classroom.
Conor Wagley: Conor Wagly is always the first in my room in the morning, and while his face is more tired than smiles, it only takes a few minutes before we're joking in the first 10 minutes of the day. He takes care of things in my classroom, when most of the time I don't even notice! (Thanks for moving the lunch magnets, bro.) He might have worn shorts every day (except one) this winter, but his heart is warm and kind, nonetheless! Let's not forget how his answers in ELA really help the whole class understand our content even better, and I couldn't do it without his help!
Madison Young: Madison is a model student. She is kind, hardworking, outgoing, and just an all-around great person. She gets great grades and is always willing to help others out. She is spunky and not afraid to be herself.
Connor Still: Connor is hard-working and always puts forth great effort. He is very kind to others and a friend to all!
Jersey Mitchell: Jersey is a responsible, hard-working student. She always puts forth effort and is very kind to others!
Malena Barger: Malena is a star student. She continuously goes above and beyond to be a greater leader in and out of the classroom. Malena not only follows directions but encourages others to do the same. She is respectful and kind to all. Anyone would be lucky to have her as a friend.
Mayah Nielson: Mayah goes above and beyond each and every day. She is a hard worker, always completing her work on time and to the best of her ability. When she finishes her work, she helps others who need it. She is quiet and follows all school rules. She is respectful and kind to her peers and adults. She is a joy to have in class!
Emma Bottom: Emma is highly responsible and hard-working in the band. She helps every day to keep the band room neat and is reliable in always having her classroom job completed and Mrs. Sheldon appreciates it so much!
MaKaela Williams: MaKaela is a great student and friend! She always has a cheerful smile on her face and comes to school every day to work hard and contribute to the conversations. I truly enjoy having her in class and will miss her smile when she goes to high school.
Maks Mingus: Maks has grown up a lot this year! I have noticed a significant change in his attitude towards school and friends just in the last month! He is a good friend and works hard in the classroom. I really hope he can keep it up heading into high school and he will have many successful days!

Wildcat Families,
The WCHS Health Club and Tazewell County Health Department are teaming up for a town hall-style meeting about Substance Use and its impact on our community. The event is open to the public and students are encouraged to attend with their guardians. The event is Wednesday, April 12th from 6:00-7:15 at WCHS.
Be anything you want to be, except uninformed.
In addition, to our early dismissal today at District 50,after school latchkey services will also be cancelled for Friday, March 31. Beverly Manor dismissal is 1:15 and John L. Hensey is at 1:45.
In addition to the early dismissal, all afternoon activities and clubs (i.e. Gaming Club) are canceled today as well.
Due to a combination of issues Beverly Manor School will dismiss today at 1:15 p.m. and John L. Hensey School will let out at 1:45 p.m. We have a large number of families who are planning to travel this evening, the forecast is calling for some very severe weather conditions, and there are many members of our community expressing their anxiety tied to their experiences during the 2013 tornado. Though we normally would not consider an early dismissal for this type of event, today is unique and the four local school districts are in agreement that this decision will best serve the needs of our community. All employees are free to leave once the students have cleared the building.
In spite of the unusual circumstances, we hope that all of you have a wonderful spring break and enjoy some very well deserved rest.
Mark your Calendars!
