Extracurricular Update- While we are still awaiting information from the IESA, our region's move to Tier 1 allows for some activities to take place. Basketball, as a high risk sport, will be allowed to practice and scrimmage, but not compete. Volleyball, as a medium risk sport, will be allowed to practice and compete locally. At this time, we are planning to hold tryouts next week. More info to come, but all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who wish to tryout MUST have a current sports physical on file with the nurse BEFORE tryouts begin- NO EXCEPTIONS!! If you haven't scheduled a physical yet, be sure to get one done this week. Will update again soon.

Good morning! We apologize for the short notice, but we have just learned that we will be without a bus driver this week. As of this morning, Mrs Allison’s riders (bus 11) will be picked up by Mrs Mack on bus 44. This may cause delays for riders on Farmdale, the shuttle, and riders on bus 11 only. We ask that you plan to have your students at their stop at their regular time to help us stay as close to schedule as possible. We appreciate your patience and will update again with any changes regarding the afternoon runs. Thank you
A reminder that the Beverly Manor office will be open from 7:30-11:30 each remote Friday and then front office staff will be working remotely and available via email for any questions or needs. Please view the flyer for contact information.
We are excited to start our 3rd quarter on Monday!

Attention 8th-grade families,
Please review the following information as we share the possible options that will be looked at for the 8th grade promotion ceremony. The selected option for the ceremony will be made closer event in May when more timely guidance is available, but will have to be made with enough time to prepare all of the necessary work. This option and further 8th-grade ceremony and transition to the high school will be shared in the coming weeks.

UPDATE from the IESA Director:
We have received an official announcement from the Governor's Office that the state of Illinois remains in Tier 3 mitigations. As a result, all school activities remain "paused" and no practices or interscholastic contests may be held. Boys basketball practice which is scheduled to begin January 4 may not start on that date and I believe it is safe to assume that girls volleyball should be paused as well when it is scheduled to start January 11.
Given Illinois continues to remain in Tier 3 mitigations, this news is not totally unexpected. Yet, it is another setback to the safe return of interscholastic activities for IESA member schools. We will no longer establish new season dates for boys basketball and girls volleyball. As we have seen since mid-July, these sports which are considered medium risk and high risk are not going to be allowed to be held until they are moved to low risk and/or Illinois moves into Phase 5 of Restore Illinois. It would be an effort in futility to once again set up arbitrary dates for these sports only to once again be told by the Governor's Office and IDPH that they cannot start on the dates IESA established. Rather than set new dates, which then requires the athletic director to re-schedule contests, find new officials, etc., we will await word from the Governor's Office and IDPH when activities will be allowed to resume. When that word is given, we will then convene a meeting of the IESA Board of Directors to decide our plan moving forward and immediately notify the IESA membership of the new schedule.
D50 Free Meal Friday signup is now available. Corn Dogs for lunch are a must tomorrow! Use the attached link to sign up for meals: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdZg3SUK08T74P7R0iLvBKrDtAw8TLhbFvdC1-M6vEfTGF1mg/viewform?usp=pp_url

Parent and Staff Update - December 14, 2020
Dear Parents and Staff,
We are writing to inform you that Wednesday, January 6th, and Thursday, January 7th will be Remote Learning Days for all students. Due to the rise in COVID-19 positive cases in Washington, reopening our school buildings on Monday, January 11th will provide additional time between New Year's Eve / New Year's Day activities for potential COVID-19 exposures to run their course.
In order to keep our schools open, however, we ask everyone to please take every precaution during the holidays to limit their exposure to COVID-19.
Details below are provided for your reference.
1. Wednesday through Friday (January 6th through 8th) are now scheduled as Remote Learning Days for all students.
2. Learning packets will be sent home this week with in-person students to complete January 6th, 7th, and 8th and must be completed and turned in upon returning to school in order for attendance to be counted on those dates.
3. Our remote learners will continue learning as they have previously this school year.
4. Food Services will contact families regarding availability and distribution of Remote Meals on January 6th through 8th.
5. Latch Key will operate full days January 6th through 8th and our Latch Key Coordinator will be contacting participating families regarding this change.
6. Our schools will reopen for in-person learning on Monday, January 11th.
7. An updated school calendar is attached, in addition to this letter, for your reference. Parents and staff should continue to treat this time during the pandemic as a prolonged severe weather event, in which school could be cancelled at any time and with little notice related to COVID-19 exposures.
Sincerely, Chad Allaman, Superintendent
